This plant was one of my favourite snack when I was 13 years old. I liked to cut the stem, used my teeth to pull the skin and then chew and sucked the sweet juicy flesh. One day, I was not careful and broke a quarter of my top canine tooth. It turned black and spread to other top teeth. I had to pull out four top teeth and from then onwards I never ate the raw sugar cane again!
