Ugly Green Grasshopper

You won't like to see the creature. It is ugly with the body full of white growths. Is it having small pox type of disease? Or by nature, it is just like that. 
I found it on a tongkat ali leaf. 

Well, dare to eat this leaf? I think not, as it is so bitter. The leaves seem to be well grown, not a single hole!
