In the tropical forest, you cannot simply grab on the vines even you lose balance. The thorns are there waiting to punch through your hand. Just look at thorns distributed on the green vine, very sharp! If you get pricked, you have to apply ant-septic cream immediately, otherwise, you will feel pain for a week.
I got a few times in my farm when cutting down these vines.
