Mussaenda erythrophylla (ashanti blood, red flag bush)

This is a common flowering woody shrub grown in the Sarawak Parks and Gardens.It can climb to 1.8m height. The leaves are bright green with silky hairs. The small clustered flowers are creamy yellow with red-felted in the middle. The large red bracts beneath the flowers are more outstanding than the flowers.
