When the wind blows, it causes the water in the lake to form waves and moves in the direction of wind, plus up and down. Any object on the surface of the water, whether still or moving, will be disturbed.
When a nearby large star explodes, will there be gravitational waves (besides cosmic rays) blowing towards the earth and disturb its rhythm?
