Life in the Rural Sarawak (5) - Railway 

This is not the railway to transport the public. It transports the lumberjacks and the timber logs to the log pond or river, where the logs can then be transported to the downstream or warehouses by river. This rail track practically floats on the peat swamp. Building of road on the peat swamp  is too expensive and will sink below water level after a few months. 
This picture was taken 20 years ago, I am not sure it is still existing.
